Domestic Tragedy: Kamuli Man Flees After Fatally Stabbing Wife

A devastating incident has shaken the community of Buyoga village in Northern Division, Kamuli Municipality, Uganda. Haruna Kabaaka, a resident of the village, is suspected of stabbing his wife, Joan Nabirye, in the neck during the early hours of the morning, resulting in her tragic death.

The incident occurred on a fateful morning, leaving the community in shock and grief. According to eyewitnesses, Kabaaka allegedly stabbed Nabirye in the neck before fleeing the scene, abandoning his wife's lifeless body.

The police have launched a manhunt for Kabaaka, who remains at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward and assist in bringing him to justice.

The motive behind the brutal killing is still unclear, but domestic violence is suspected to have played a role. The couple's neighbors reported that the pair had a history of marital disputes, which may have escalated into the tragic event.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive issue of domestic violence in Uganda. According to the Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (2016), one in five women aged 15-49 experience physical violence from their partners.

As the search for Kabaaka continues, the community is left to mourn the loss of Nabirye, a life cut short by senseless violence. The incident highlights the need for increased awareness and action to prevent domestic violence and protect vulnerable individuals, particularly women and children.
